IPL 2020: Playing XI of SRH

SRH were one of the passive team during the auction in light of the fact that they were pretty balanced pre-auction. They didn’t have much of a planning to do,albeit middle order was a little bit of concern for them. They included indian talents such as Virat Singh, Priyam Garg, abdul samad to bolster their fragile batting order in the middle.

Not only did they roped in local batting talented but also included experienced overseas quality players(Mitchell Marsh, Fabien Allen). Now, let’s look at the possible playing XI that they are likely to play with:

  1. David Warner (C)
  2. Johny Bairstow (WK)
  3. Manish Pandey
  4. Virat Singh
  5. Priyam Garg
  6. Vijay Shankar
  7. Mitchell Marsh/ Fabian Allen
  8. Rashid Khan
  9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
  10. Khaleel Ahmed/ Siddharth Kaul/ Sandeep Sharma
  11. Shahbaz Nadeem

However, Their key players such as Warner, Bairstow and Williamson will not be available in the initial matches so they might struggle in those matches. The interesting thing to look out is that I haven’t included the “captain cool” Kane Williamson in the XI and it is from the team’s perspective. His inclusion hampers the balance of the team so it’d be better to opt for three dimensional player than a single dimensional one.

Their bowling department doesn’t look as promising as before with the injury concerns of Bhuvneshwar Kumarand since most of the batsmen have started to pick their “X-Factor” Rashid Khan. Moreover, Khaleel Ahmed possess a high economy rate which isn’t impressive in the tournaments like IPL. With this in mind, it will be fascinating to see how SRH fares as a unit in the highly competitive league.
