8th, 6th, 8th: These are the position of RCB in last 3 IPL seasons. Virat, AB de Villiers and Yuzi Chahal are the only consistent players in the team.
Come 2020 IPL season, RCB must release these 5 players who have failed to make an impact in the team:
1. Shivam Dube
He was tauted as the next Yuvraj Singh but he was just another over-hyped player like Lewis ( the next Gayle).
However, he is in a tremendous form, scoring 79 (60), 45 (28) and 31 (17) against RSA A in ODIs.
Despite his form, RCB will opt to release him as 5cr is not a justifiable tag for him. Instead, RCB might rebuy him in a lower price.
2. Aksdeep Nath
He is always praised for his batting techniques but has not shown any glimpse of impression in IPL yet.
His 3.8 cr tag price is what leads him to be released from RCB setup this season. They might opt to go for Uthappa in auction to replace Aksdeep nath.
3. Heinrich Klaasen
He is not a player who RCB should keep in their squad until AB retires from the club.
A sole foreign batsman is not something RCB need to worry about until they have de villiers with them.
They will free the foreign quota by releasing Klaasen so that they can add some bowling firepowers.
4. Mohammed Siraj
He must be released and chances are he will. With Navdeep Saini in the squad, Siraj will not make it in the playing XI.
He only took 7 wickets from 9 matches at an economy of 9.55 which is very poor considering RCB had a deep faith in him.
Also they can add 2.6cr balance in their purse by releasing him.
5. Dale Steyn
He was a world class bowler who everyone feared in his era. But now, he is an injury prone and despite making huge impact in RCB lineup previous season, he will be released.
RCB will opt to retain one between coulter Nile and Tim Southee. Since Hesson is the director of cricket operations, I doubt he will release southee, looking at his current form.
But if Southee is released, it’s a good thing for RCB. Last year , he had an economy over 14 and also he has been dropped from NZ squad recently.
There are rumours that RCB will target maxwell in the auction and if that is to be true , then they have to release Colin de Grandhomme as well.
