The only way RCB can lift IPL trophy!

RCB has suffered a humiliating defeats in each and every season of IPL. Many RCB fans are heartbroken and it’s fascinating that they still support their team regardless of the team’s performance. They reached finals 3 times but failed to clinch the final victory.

So,Can RCB ever win the IPL trophy? And if yes, how? Well, we’ll discuss that particular theory here.

IPL 2020 is little far from us but I am here to tell you that it’s almost impossible for RCB to win the upcoming season. The squad that RCB has got, lacks quality in bowling department as well as batting (except for VK and ABD). Their allrounder department too lacks quality indian talent and I can’t see any good players they can get in 2020 auction.

So, the only way for them is to try to compete for top 4 which will lift their self esteem and it’s very necessary for them. After that, they must have the best plan for IPL 2021 MEGA auction.

The mega auction occurs every 3 years as per rule which was implemented in previous 2018 mega auction. So, every team will be refreshed and this time the retention rule might change. As there are spectulations of 10 teams in IPL , so every club might be able to retain only 3 players including RTM. This will be the time for RCB management to change their fortune completely.

They should not only be looking to buy players but absolute quality players. From my perspective, they should target the following playing XI:

1. Virat Kohli ( Retain) ( C )

2. Ishan Kishan (wk)

3. Ab de Villiers ( Retain)

4. Manish Pandey

5. Krunal Pandya

6. Ben Stokes

7. Shreyas Gopal/ Kuldeep Yadav

8. Trent Boult

9. Mitchell Starc

10. Navdeep Saini ( RCB should nurture him until he becomes a great talent )

11. Yuzvender Chahal (RTM)

This is a quality lineup with youngsters as well as experienced players. Also, you might have noticed that I haven’t included some big names like Bumrah, Russell, Narine, Pant. It’s because you have to be realistic and not get swayed away by emotional excitement. Such big names will surely be retained by their respective franchise.

VK and Kishan can provide a decent start to the team and build a solid base. Abd can come at no. 3 or no. 4 as per situation and do what he always does, MAGIC!!

Manish Pandey and Krunal can control the innings as well as provide a firepower when needed. And then comes the world Cup hero Ben Stokes who needs no introduction. RCB must go all out for Ben stokes because he is one of the best allrounder currently and he has a lot of cricket left in him. He fills a gap that RCB currently lacks eventhough Stoinis has done a decent job till now. The only thing RCB must keep in mind is they shouldn’t go beyond 10 cr price for Ben because that puts a lot of pressure on him.

And finally we come to the bowling department which looks very threatening. Trent Boult and Mitchell Starc are probably the best overseas death bowlers and having both of them in a same lineup is scary for any opposition. In between these world class pacers, Navdeep Saini can flourish a lot better and might become India’s greatest prospect. In spinners, Chahal and Kuldeep: Kul-Cha will be the wicket takers and put a lot pressure on opposing batsmen. Also, Krunal can become economical and pick crucial wickets too. To your astonishment, it’s not over yet. Ben Stokes is also a valuable asset who can bowl at least 3 overs as well. So, there is no lack in bowling department for the first in RCB history.

The above lineup is not a strongest lineup in T20 world but it’s very promising. When you look at it, you realise that this team can defend low scores unlike current RCB team which even fails to defend 200+ scores. The batting side is filled with Indian talents with ABD and Stokes to decorate and spark that lineup.

It has what it takes to finally bring that trophy home at Chinnaswammy. It will be a glamorous and memorable day in the cricketing worls when that moment arrives.
