CSK playing XI against RCB in 1st match of IPL 2019

Hello guys! You must be as excited as I am for the IPL 2019 and particularly the 1st match. The South Indian Derby! It’s the Captain cool vs Captain aggressive.

CSK are the most successful team in the IPL history as they reached playoffs in every season and won the title thrice. Against RCB, CSK has a good head to head record of 7-1. That’s a total domination. RCB would like to change the fortune but can they?

CSK has a settled Playing XI and they will be continuing the same XI But this time onwards there will a big change in the playing XI. What’s

that? Let’s look at the lineup:

1. Dhruv Shorey/ Ruturaj Gaikwad

This is the massive change I am talking about. Reason? They had Deepak Chahar as an uncapped player last season but now he is capped after playing against England. There is a rule in the IPL that every team must have at least one uncapped player in their Playing XI. So they must include either of Ruturaj or Dhruv Shorey. Both of them are exciting talents to watch out for but entry of either of them will cause Du Plesis to sit at the bench.

2. Shane Watson

He was the man of the match of final last year. After playing 11 dot balls, he would have had last IPL if he got out at that moment but he turned it into a century helping CSK lifting the title in the comeback year. CSK fans will be hoping same from him this time too but little worry is that he is in the negative side of 30.

3. Suresh Raina

Mr. IPL is the leading runscorer in IPL although he has never won an orange cap. He is very consistent and reliable. He will be the backbone of CSK’s batting order.

4. Ambati Rayudu

What a season he had last year. It was so pleasing to see Rayudu scoring runs after run in every matches. He scored a century too and was most effective against best Spinner Rashid Khan. He was almost sure to be the #4 batsman of India in WC 2019 but recently he has been out of the form and might be out from the team too which is a worry. So he must perform absolutely best to fix his position in World Cup 2019.

5. MS Dhoni

The greatest finisher off all time. His wicketkkeping skills is immeasurable and he is a great captain. He had very poor form before IPL last season and every CSK haters were shouting that Dhoni will be the flop but what he did was just mesmerizing. You must remember the game against RCB chasing 205 where Dhoni finished the game in style. No matter his age, he is always a valuable asset for the team.

6. Kedar Jadhav

He will play a great role of finishing alongside Dhoni. He can hit some unorthodox shots and can bat safely. In winning IPL 2018 1st match, you might remember and if you are a CSK fan then you wouldn’t forget that he also had an invaluable contribution. He can also bowl some tight overs.

7. Dwayne Bravo

He is the only weak link in CSK. He can bat too but he doesn’t bowl as effectively as he used to bowl 2, 3 years ago. Everyone seem to pick his slower one well. Since he is a second death bowler, it will be a danger if he goes for too many runs.

8. Ravindra Jadeja

He bowls in a great length and line. He doesn’t spin the ball but his discipline in bowling is what makes him a wicket taker. His batting abilities seem to have faded but he can contribute with the bowl effectively.

9. Deepak Chahar

He was the leading wicket taker for CSK last season which earned him a call for national duty. However, he didn’t bowl quite well against England and he was dropped from the team. But he is expected to perform better in IPL this season too and he will be the Go-To man of Dhoni. His swinging abilities is what Dhoni likes about his bowling.

10. Lungi Ngidi

He was a jackpot for CSK. He wasn’t a star but his performances were as valuable as diamond. Only few might have noticed but he bowled in the death with an economy of just 6. That’s what every team would like to have in their team. CSK will be totally dependent in Ngidi for death overs. If he fails then it will be a huge trouble for CSK.

11. Imran Tahir/ Mitchell Santner

Imran Tahir is in great form so he might be preferred over Santner. Leg spinner are the successful spinners and that is the only reason why Tahir/Santner make in the Playing XI ahead of Du Plesis. If Du Plesis comes in then KM asif has to come in- in place of Tahir. Asif is not a great bowler so the chances of him in playing XI is very low.

This is the team that is ready and roaring to defend the title this year. In 1st match, CSK might miss Tahir, Du Plesis and Ngidi if they chose the nation before club. SA vs SL is on March 24 and if they decide to play that match then they can’t play 1st match of IPL. It is yet to be confirmed about what they will decide. But if they chose to play for SA then RCB will be the favorites to win 1st match.

What do you guys think about the 1st match? Whom are you supporting? Red army or Yellow army?
