IPL 2019 Auction: 5 players RR will buy

Rajasthan Royals performed decently last season even with the absence of Steve Smith. They had good squad but they lack a proper Indian Pacer and a death bowler. Jofra Archer performed brilliantly but he didn’t get support from the other side.

So RR will look to buy 4-5 players in the IPL auction 2019. Lets look at their current Playing XI:

  1. Ajinkya Rahane
  2. Rahul Tripathi
  3. Jos Buttler
  4. Steve Smith
  5. Sanju Samson
  6. Ben Stokes
  7. Krishnappa Gowtham
  8. Jofra Archer
  9. Shreyas Gopal

They are in need of two Indian fast bowler. So they will look to buy:

1) Mohit Sharma

He is a good death bowler and since KXIP released him ahead of the auction, RR will be willing to bag him at about 2-3 cr. He will play a supporting role for Jofra Archer.

2) Jaydev Unadkat

Well, they might again go for him in the auction at a lower price but he will be the main target of KXIP. So it wikl ve difficult for RR to take him again in their side. They will hid on him upti 3-4 cr only.

I also have a feeling that they will scoit a local Rajasthan bowler and will make him the main target at the auction.

As for the batsman, they don’t have much problem but Since Smith, Buttler and Stokes will leave IPL after May 01, they must look for their Backup. Let’s look at the possible options:

3) Carlos Brathwaite

He will be the substitution of Ben Stokes. Eventhough he isn’t the same player as Stokes, he can do the finishing job for RR pretty well.

4) Shai Hope

I have not mentioned Simron Hetmyer because he will be bought by either Punjab or Bangalore. Shai Hope will be an ideal replacement for Steve Smith. They will bid upto 4-5 cr for him.

5) Luke Ronchi

He will be a replacement for jos Buttler. He has a tremendous form and he is also a brilliant wicketkeeper. After departure of Buttler, he can do a magic for RR instead of Buttler. They will bid him at around 2-3 cr.

I don’t think they are in need of a spinner. So they will consider buying above mentioned players.

Stay tuned! My next post will be on RCB
